Size

15cm

The Himalayan beautiful rosefinch is about as large as a chaffinch, 15 centimetres long. It is a medium-sized rosefinch, very similar to both the smaller dark-rumped rosefinch and the pink-browed rosefinch, and females of these three species are hardly separable in the field. The males differ in the colouring of the pink parts, and the males of the pink-browed rosefinch are browner above and often less strongly streaked. (German Wikipedia, general species account)

The wing length is 74–81 millimetres in males and 74–78 in females, and the tail 62–64 millimetres. The bill is dark brown above and pale brown below. It occurs from the Himalaya to central and northern China. (German Wikipedia, general species account)
