Eremias przewalskii
Habitat
Sand desert and desert-steppe
Range
Mongolia and northern China
Przewalski's racerunner is a streamlined desert lacertid with a pointed snout, long legs and a very long tail. Its sandy back is patterned with pale longitudinal streaks and darker spots, providing camouflage on Gobi substrates. The pale belly and narrow body contrast with the broader, rough-scaled toad-headed agamas of the same region. Several Eremias remain similar, so scale arrangement and geographic range are important for confirmation. (Wikipedia, Eremias przewalskii account)
This species occurs in the Gobi region of Mongolia and northern China, where it uses sand desert, dunes and sparsely vegetated desert-steppe. It is active by day and runs rapidly between feeding patches and burrow entrances. The opened species page provides clear range information but little species-level ecology; exact prey, clutch size, seasonal activity and named Mongolian localities are therefore withheld rather than supplied from related racerunners.
