The Eurasian beaver is a large semiaquatic rodent with dense brown fur, a broad flattened scaly tail, small ears, and webbed hind feet. Orange enamel strengthens the large incisors used to fell woody plants. It resembles the North American beaver closely, and geography is usually more useful than appearance for separation. Adults are powerfully built for swimming and cutting vegetation. (Wikipedia, general species account)
It lives along rivers, streams, lakes, and wetlands across Europe and northern Asia. Beavers eat bark, twigs, leaves, grasses, and aquatic plants, build lodges or bank dens, and may construct dams where water is shallow. Family groups maintain territories, and litters commonly contain one to four kits. The opened source did not provide a dependable Mongolian viewing locality or national population account.
