The brown accentor is a relatively small member of its family, 14.5–15 centimetres long. As the name reveals, the plumage is predominantly brown, with a pale yellow-brown unstreaked underside, dark ear coverts and a white eyebrow stripe. The song is a repetitive, melodic trill. DNA studies suggest its closest relative is Kozlov's accentor. (Swedish Wikipedia, general species account)
